Exploring Nina Simone's Roots: A Journey Through Her Childhood Home
Nina Simone was a singer, songwriter, and composer during the 1960's & 70's. She was incredibly influential on the musical scene during the Civil Rights era and left her mark on the music industry since then.
We were fortunate enough to meet her brother Sam Waymon at the childhood home where both he and his sister Nina grew up in Tryon, North Carolina for a tour of this historic building and town.
This is part of a longer interview with Samuel Waymon which can be seen here: https://youtu.be/ExKeXv8a-BE
